DMVAC races support Surrey’s unpaid carers

In June runners from across Surrey and beyond took part in Dorking and Mole Valley Athletics Club (DMVAC) Dorking 10s road races.

These premier runs take place annually and attract participants from far afield, with hundreds of individuals and teams taking part.

Action for Carers were delighted to be one of the two charities to receive a percentage of the funds raised on the day.

It was a fantastic event, with lots going on as well as the races, with lots of spectators enjoying the day too. BBC’s Sophie Raworth, a keen runner and originally from Dorking herself, awarded the medals.

DMVAC chose to split the proceeds from the races between Action for Carers and The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity. Club members particularly wanted to help local charities that supported better health and wellbeing.

A huge thanks to DMVAC for their support of Surry’s unpaid carers.

Photos include ACS staff member Joe, participating, as well as four-legged team member Sally, who didn’t run, but did enjoy the attention!
